Privacy Policy

Oratio (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Catholic prayer iOS app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Oratio, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use Oratio, we may collect:

  • Sign in with Apple. When you sign in for community features, we receive an Apple user identifier and, if you choose to share them, your name and email address (via Supabase authentication).
  • Profile. Information you provide such as display name, bio, profile photo, and favorite Bible verse.
  • Community content. Prayer intentions, posts on the Prayer wall, participation in live prayer rooms, and public feedback board submissions (feature ideas and issues) on oratioapp.io.
  • On-device data. Prayer history, streaks, and app-lock preferences stored locally on your device.

Screen Time and app blocking

Oratio uses Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls APIs so you can choose which apps to lock until you pray. You select those apps; selections remain on your device. Oratio does not send lists of your installed apps to our servers.

How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • Provide prayer, Bible, and community features
  • Manage subscriptions and account access
  • Send local notifications you enable (for example, prayer reminders)
  • Operate, secure, and improve the service

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal information
  • We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs for advertising

Subscriptions and payments

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. Oratio does not store your credit card or payment card details.

Account deletion

You can delete your account in the app: open Profile, then choose Delete account. Deletion removes your account and associated server data subject to any retention required by law or legitimate operational needs (for example, resolving abuse).
