Terms of Use
Last updated: June 30, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Oratio iOS app and related services (the “Service”). By downloading or using Oratio, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service
Oratio is a Catholic prayer app designed to help you build a habit of prayer before distraction. Features may include daily prayers, optional Screen Time based locking of apps you select, access to the Bible, and community prayer features. Some features require a subscription or an account (Sign in with Apple).
Subscriptions
Paid subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID and may renew automatically on a monthly or annual basis until canceled. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings. To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Oratio does not store your payment card information.
App blocking
You control which apps are blocked. Blocking uses Apple Screen Time / Family Controls with your permission. Oratio itself is never blocked. An emergency unlock option is available for exceptions when you need access outside the normal prayer-unlock flow.
Community guidelines
Community spaces (including the Prayer wall and live sessions) are for respectful Catholic prayer content only. Do not post hate, harassment, spam, illegal content, or material that is contrary to these guidelines. We may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these rules.
Bible and daily readings
Bible text and daily readings are provided for personal spiritual use. Daily readings may include material associated with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB); attribution is provided in the app where applicable. Scripture and readings are not a substitute for pastoral care or official liturgical texts when those are required.
Disclaimer
Oratio is a spiritual tool, not medical, mental-health, or legal advice. App blocking is user-chosen and depends on Apple’s platform capabilities; it may not work in every situation. Use the Service responsibly and seek appropriate professional help when needed.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest revision.
